i think it doesn't matter what kind your cichla are. As long as you take care you fish properly. And your happy with them. Love your fish.

+1 at first i must admit i was hung up on rarity !!!!And too a point i still am ..But i had to stop take deep breathans say to myself take your time do it right build the collection slowly and saver every moment don't over do it quikly and burn out .Callen your monos are beautiful to say the least ....And your oscar witch is very common so to speak i would take that handsome gentlmen or some peoples Much more rare lets say in the hobby Bro....MF hit the nail on the head

Well said Hulon...I've got a wife and three kids, and can't quite afford some of the rarer Cichla.........But one day maybe! Lol

Will do MF....i've learned ALOT from you guys.....and also by trial and error. Unfortunatley at the expense of a nice fish or two.

Great Monos, Looks very well taken care of and healthy. What are you feeding them?

I went through the EXTREMELY frustrating process of converting them to pellets at about 3", so they were raised on Massivore. But once they hit 6" to 7" that shish got waaaay to expensive, so....now they get tilapia and shrimp mostly. They will still hammer Massivoire though! I just use it more sparingly! Lol

I gave them feeders ONE time when i first got them! And then tried everything in the frozen seafood section until one of em finnaly took some shrimp.....after that they ALL caught on. This was my reason for starting w/ a group of ten. I figured one of em will eat something besides a feeder, and the rest Will eventually do the same.

rare fish is rare. so not everyone can have it. Yes, take your time and enjoy them while they are still with you. Fishes comes and go.

Hey man i am in my 40's now the kids are pretty much gone and sorry Bro it does not stop when they get older just more expensive just like our taste in fishNo matter what there is always something coming up if you do it slowly and this is just my opinion when that awsome fish comes around that you been waiting 2 years for.You actually will have the room for one thing and the $$$$$$$$$ to buy it Heck we all want them all but it's just not reasonable unless i win the lotto nottttttttttBy the way guys nice to see a little action on the boards here it's been pretty dead for a while LOVE the updates Keep them comen....
