Update on my RTG (It's not good!)

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
^ that's what i think.

I've seen my RTG pop several time (shape like SW) man i'm really concern with SW and its digestion of this food. My problem is it only eats SW.

next aro...... maybe and XB or golden head........those a gorgeous and you're sure it'll turn out nice when it's grown. Not like the SR

Sorry about the loss. As i read in one of your comments your wife told you that the animal takes the hit for the owner and i assume someone already told you this but i didn't read through all the other comments...I've been told that the Arowana especially becomes a family member in some Asian cultures and when it dies, its truly believed that it died so the owner could live. like you said, i don't know how much i believe it but its a nice idea.
sorry again, hope the move goes well and let us know what you do with the tank next!

Thanks.
DDragon, that is what made me try to change its diet. It used to eat a varied diet but just stopped accepting MS and crickets. It would only accept SW. I suppose i got a bit lazy and just allowed it to dictate what it ate. I tried to change its diet after too long i think.

TBH it was a pain in the ass of a fish regarding eating. So fickle. I have a friend who has an RTG and it eat everything. 1 to 2 full shrimp a day, pellets when given, it's a pig! i often wondered if mine had internal issues long before it died because of the small amount it ate. That fish was about 4 years old and very small really, 17 inches as you can see.
Next fish will be an RTG i think, i can't afford full golden, maybe i can find a cheapish hi or x back.
