So what do you guys think.. Is this a pair worth breeding or will it produce low grade fry? I'm only looking to breed flowerhorns if they are going to produce fry better than LFS grade's.

The female is OKAY, the male you should wait until hes atleast 6 inches or so so then maybe you can more tell if hes really worth breeding. If he turms out to be a huge head FH with little color, spen some money on a great, and I mean great female with loads of color. This way you can shoot for head and color. And then cull very closely and selectively.

Cam honestly, I think you need to separate them totally. Pump they boy up, Im curious to see what he looks like if you take time on him. Get him some quality food bro.

He's still young.. I'd rather work on turning him into a good breeder rather than maximizing his head potential. I still have quite a few grow outs to play around with. Besides, I haven't done a bad job raising him yet, have I? I will be sure to keep you guys updated.

Nope, just at this one. The other walmarts I've been to don't have them. I wish I knew who their supplier was. I just got back from walmart and they still have the one I didn't buy too. He's ugly though LOL.

That's what you get with flowerhorns. You'll be lucky to get 10 nice fish out of the whole bactch. You need to learn which ones will be nice looking as an adult and which will be ugly. Then you'll know which ones to keep next time they breed.

Maybe I should start to come out to YOUR Walmart? LOL

Yeah......they have those crappy flowerhorns at my wal-mart. An entire tank of em. At first they were listed as trimacs. Guess they wised up. What's sad is they were more expensive as trimacs over FH's.
