You've got some beasts in there, like you say, not show stoppers but who cares really? Koi snobs possibly, thank god I'm not one of them.

i have a good question about these fishes...are they good to have outside without heaters or do you still need one for the pond?i have a big yard and want to build one.
Koi do fine w/o heaters. I live in KY and mine stay outside year round, no problems at all - except for the hawk that ate my 5 butterfly koi! 
I have one left now that is about a foot long. After seeing this beautiful set up I am on the prowl for more koi!
