I think the problem with the ammonia levels are you bought 5 6" motoros put them in a 150 stock tank with insuficiant filtration then got fx5. I don't think the tank is cycled yet. That Barron's book Freshwater Stingrays is a great book it has helped me alot. I see that you got a new tank and ordered two stock tanks with viewing windows. I think somone need's a intervention. Have fun with those rays.
Easy Does It

Ah, okay. I think I understand. Yes, we are crazy. Yes, we are letting stingrays take over our two-bedroom apartment. Yes, we found something we both really enjoy together. Yes, it feels awesome to be so passionate about something, finally. Yes, we read Barron's book months before we ever got our first stingray (along with hours and hours of research almost each day that still hasn't stopped with both of our curiosities). Yes, we are having a blast with our rays.

And we'll take it as easy we please. ;) We love doing this.

But yeah, I think you are right. The spontaneity is exactly what's wrong with our tank, lol. The other option was to leave them there to die. They are too gorgeous for that nonsense. :)

I think he is worried that you and Matt will take the 360 to sleep in and seal your bedroom off and flood with water to house rays:nilly:

Probably. We are in love with them, lol.

So glad you were able to help them.
Cmon some of you MFKers have to be close enough to her to help her out with some cycled filter material?Id give you a few cycled sponges for the cause if you were anywhere near me.

you are doing an amazing job so far. How bad of shape these rays were in still sickens me

You and Matt are doing an awesome job! Funny...I was the same way when I got into rays. They completely took over. Now, after 7 tanks with a variety of animals, my wife and I have pulled the reigns a little until we move into a larger home. I still think I have enough room for that 600plus fiberglass tank, from where you guys got your tanks from, in the basement though:naughty:

I wish you both continued success with your rays!
