FYI: 3rd batch disappeared once they started wiggling about a month ago, think mom and dad caught a glimpse of a 11in jag living in the tank next to them and ate them, I am not sure!!!!

Is she a SRT Chris? I thought SRT were bright red, she looks more orangish in that picutre. Perhaps its just the lighting angle. Very cool on the spawn! Looking awesome!!

She is, but she is really bland because of here laying all those eggs and fanning all day today.

SRT is described as any red texas that fades to either Red(being the most sought after), bright orange to orange(second on the list but most prevelant in the hobby) pink, and sometimes yellow(never seen it), but this was posted in a big debate on the section of the forum.

My female his bright orangish red when at full color

Hey Chris,

Was watching your youtube videos and noticed about 200+ fry in one of your tanks! Wow ... how do you manage to feed them all ?!?! I read they need to be raised up on baby brine shrimp , would you recommend this as the best nutrition for the lil guys? Cant wait to get my own pair and have them breeding :D

Ive only bred redclaw crayfish before and hoping to get a few malawis and SRTs breeding next.

Hows the market over there in the US for these SRT's? Hopefully your making a tidy profit. Going to try my hand over here in Scotland/Uk .. will post on eBay,aquaristclassifieds, forums etc

oh aye ... is their any preference to the size of the female and male to have a higher success of breeding and less aggression? Read a bigger female would be ideal or at least same size or does it not matter too much?

These fry are super nice fish. my biggest is approx 3-1/2 inch fading nicely with fantastic pearling. will try to get updated pictures later today.

Hey Paul!!!! Glad to see you are happy with them!!! Can't wait to see the pics!!!

I am slowly transfering them to pellets....but they eat anything you put in the tank!!! They like frozen Blood worms, pellets, growth meals, siriluna flakes, frozen brine shrimp...etc...etc LIke I said...ANYTHING!!
