updated pics of my cheap 750

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
this whole thing is temporary untill i get enough time to finish my big concrete tank.. (i have to finish sealing the concrete and buy the window) I had two big rtcs and another big aro.. then the pump seized and i lost the two rtcs and the biggest aro ( i didnt notice that the pump quit workin) since then i have gotten two pumps and added the wet dry.. never had a problem since... the question about viewing the fish from above now.. i just got all the plants recently so i amstill workin the bugs out of that idea.. i am planing on making a floating barrier out of pvc to keep the plants on one side of the tank.. this pool has held water for about 6 months now and no problems with leaks.. the ghetto plastic cover is on ther because the old cover didnt keep my fish from jumping out.. thats how i lost my big ck now the plastic top gets tied all the way around the bottom of the inflatable ring tight so nothing has a chance of getting out plus it catches all the evaporation and drips it back into the pond..

What's the purpose of the wet/dry filter? I'm very new @ the pond concept and am gonna need to build one within the next few months to house my RTCxTSN.

I don't see anything GETTO about it... I think we're mixing up getto and DIY (cheaply). :grinyes:

Personally, I would have gone with the Blue insulation, way much cooler.

Is that the pool without the filter connections?

They are on sale here for $28. another $20 gets you the filter.

I love to see how other areas of the country do things, did you have to buy the water plants?

In florida we had to invent machinery to destroy them in the lakes.

I was thinking about harvesting them and selling them for cost of shipping to MFK's if their state allowed them. :woot: :woot:

If someone is worried about punctures, just put in a plastic liner. Cheap insurance.

Best filtration is biological, also the cheapest... Read the files under filters in the main menu...incredible wealth of information there. The people here are SO willing to share their info. There are no secrets here. If someone suggests something wrong in error, you can be sure it will be corrected quickly. No one wants your fish to come to harm. (People are another story. )

$300 was put into it but thats wit all equipment to run it.. and yes DRJOE it is the one with the plumbing for a filter i just havent hooked into that yet....got all the plants for free from a guy i know who had them overunning his pond.... i paid $40 for the pool... the wet dry filter is for biological filtration... never had a puncture..
