Normally id say that purple is a tacky color for a tank, but i actually like it in this one, looks nice

n/a in this case. it helps settle down after doing something like this so sand doesn't get stuck in the filter. It's not totally pointless but def not a substitute for water changes due to cloudy water under normal circumstances.

I don't really want any big rocks in there though- it takes away from the swimming space for the bigger fish.
