Yeah I agree, it's looking like the both of them are males which can be a good thing because they stay smaller than the females. Males also have longer tails but it's hard to compare that when you don't have a female one present.

Umm......they should seeing how they grew up together and don't have any females turtles to compete over. Just keep a closer eye on them when they're older.

Usually it takes male Painted Turtles 3-5 years to reach sexual maturity. I'm not really sure on the lifespan. 30-50 years sounds about right. Maybe even more.
