Hi all,
I've had a 55 gallon for 4 years now and have switched it from a community tank to a African Cichlid tank last summer. I then got Malawi Cichlids to start off with. I then got a neolamprologus hybrid. And switched into Tanganyika cichlids. So that brings us up to date. So I would like to now share with you my plans for an update of my setup.
I want to have a 55 gallon tank with to small rock piles on either side, a forest of Jungle Val, and 11 sea shells in the middle of the two rock piles.
EQUIPMENT: 2 14 watt fluorescant lights, 2 HOB Power filters, a heater, and a small aerator.
LIVESTOCK: (Fauna) 3 Lamprologus Brevis, 1 Eretmodus Cyanostictus "Zambian Blue Spot", 4 Synodontis Lucipinnis, and 3 Brown Rabbit Snails
(Flora) 5, very sad, jungle val
PLANS:
Equipment: Upgrade to a 108 Watt T5 Lighting, add a CO2 System, and upgrade the filter system.
Livestock: 12 Cyprochromis Leptosoma "Utinta", 25 to 55 Nerite Snails, and a Platythelphusa Crab
I've always wanted to have a thread that people will follow and enjoy. So this weekend I will post a picture of the tank at its current state. Next week I will be receiving my first pay check (Yes I'm only 16) sometime next week. I will have worked 32 hours this week at 8 buck an hour. I might work next week, who knows. and will either update the livestock or equipment... YOU GUYS CHOOSE.
But then I will show the progress of the tank, the problems, and which equipment works best for a fish tank.
