I voted small town, but most people would think of it as rural. Most people think of the whole UP of MI as rural.

Big, dirty city...
You should try Butte Montana the dirtiest small city in the west...sometime, and I need to go someplace with actual music shops and ethnic resturaunts.

Hills of the Berkshire Mountains in the sticks! 5000 folks in my town!

I used to live in a rural area, which is the same place I grew up my whole life.. and will return to one day.. but for now.. I like the city mainly because you don't have to go far for anything...

So far the 'Burbs are winning, but I have to root for the rural team!

I grew up in a town of 5000, but for the past twelve years we've lived about 8 miles out of that town in the hills. Almost everyone around here grows Noble Fir Christmas Trees (us included), other than that there is timber lands and not much else.

I have always lived rural or small town. Now, I live on the outskirts of a 700,000 population city. But the area I am in is nice...it's one of the smaller towns Omaha swallowed up. I still have that small town atmosphere...but I am only minutes from one of the most amazing zoos in the world! :)

The company I work for built a new building out in the country next to a large lake. My drive back and forth consists of about 8 blocks of town/city traffic and 7 miles of rural highway. So, I kind of got the best of both worlds at the moment (though I do miss being out in the country!).
