Hello All,

I am seeing multiple signs of deficiency in plants like browning of leaves, leaves getting rotten, some of them getting transparent and with holes. I am putting some macro and micro elements along with Carbo supplements. However, still the condition is same. Please help me to get the reason for these issue so that I can fix these.

Thanks in Advance.

Hi there, what lights are you using? What fertilizers? Anything like root tablets for the heavy root feeders?

I am using two LEDs of each 9 watt. Using Macro and micro nutrients along with Phyto carb fertilizer. No root tabs used.

Seems you could be missing the most important ferts... N+P+K

Not really familiar with the brands of ferts you are using but since you say you have micro and macro then NPK seems like what could be lacking depending on tank stocking...

Also what substrate are you using and what brand of LED are you using, any more info on them? Reason being just saying 9W led doesnt give us much info to go on unless they maybe specific for plants?

Attached is the LED configuration, using two of these.

Yes, that's correct. Please let me know the reason. I see that this bulb gives good brightness to tank.

You'll need to do more research if you really want to get down into the details but basically the light our eyes see as high light (yellows and greens) are useless to plants, the need (reds and blues) to be considered high light...

A lot of planted tank LED units will have either white only or a combination of Red / Blue / White at base level... then as the units get more fancy you get more settings for more personalized light settings...

But anyway, what you got is basically great if you want to light up a room as it will spread light around the room without problem, but it lacks the focual point needed to help grow plants like an aquarium LED unit would do...

If you want to look for a cheap way to setup a light unit, either setup a T5 shop light above your tank or check out King of DIY on youtube for ideas on led lighting setups...

Thanks Fat Homer Fat Homer for your advise. If I have tank of 24x12x18, how much watt T5 light is required?
