Urgent Help needed for multiple issue in aquatic plants

Thanks Fat Homer Fat Homer for your advise. If I have tank of 24x12x18, how much watt T5 light is required?

At that size tank something like 1x or 2x 24" T5 shop light should be sufficient for medium - high light plants... then you just need to find a way to hang them around 4- 6" above the tank...

Read in some site that CFL can also go for planted aquariums. Any suggestion on using CFLs?

I never tried CFL bulbspersonally although have heard it works for low light plants but would be worried if it will spread light as well...

T5 shop lights / LED spot lights / LED planted tank lights etc i've seen and know work pretty well for a planted tank...

I'm even having luck with a 6w gu10 light. It's pointed forwards so lots of algae on the glass but my buces, anubias and crypts are loving it :D
