Urgent Help Required

I cannot for the life of me understand how people think a 35 or even 55 gallon tank is okay for two Oscars. I fear it's the case of Petsmart and Petco telling people oh, this fish is fine.

Firstly a full-grown Oscar would not even have enough room to turn a round in that size tank. Likely, most people would say "oh I'm going to upgrade my tank" but unfortunately Oscars grow over one inch per month. Also Oscars in general are one of the least hardy type of cichlids they suffer from hith a lot and other parasites. They require very good water and for you to have a small tank that would essentially be you doing a 50% water change almost every other day.

Your best bet is to either get a much larger tank like the other suggested at least 125 gallons or you should sell or give those Oscars away. You should invest in a small timer for your light and try something smaller like a pair of convicts they would do very well in that size tank.
