Urgent.... Need help and advice

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
yeah that is what I said..

but I think fish have to ingest both types in order for them to be effective..

Fish can't absorb or render it useful once it's in the water... atleast that is my understanding?

Read that link I posted up you will like the nutrition section.. It says at the bottom of the nutrition part that Vitamin B12 loses 90% of its potency within 30 seconds of going in the water..

I read the link you posted; I'm not certain on this, but at least try to follow the reasoning behind my incomplete understanding on the subject.

premise:
1. Vitamin B1 kick-starts ray hunger.
2. Prazi Pro is water soluble. It becomes very diffuse when put into a tank, and it somehow enters the digestive system of rays by some other means besides being consumed. While there, it can still be in high enough concentrations that it has a meaningful effect (i.e. eliminate gut parasites).

Method of Reasoning:
Even at 10% Potency (or much less), when left to be absorbed in a way similar to Prazi, there should still be some meaningful absorption of B1, even if it is only absorbed in the digestive tract in a similar manner as Prazi.

Conclusion:
Adding B1 to the water leads to stingray hunger.

I know, there are quite a lot of holes there. I am thinking that if there is anything useless about the practice, then it is caused by the fact that B1 doesn't in-fact stimulate hunger in rays. I've tried it, it appeared to have worked but the fact that it might have been a coincidence can't be ruled out. Fortunately, I don't have like 20 tanks full of rays refusing to eat, so I can't test out the idea. :)

i've tried it today, and it seem to work. the ray is taking live shrimps at the minute.

however, i notice that the water goes very cloudy when i added B1 into water, even spending 15mins mixing the crush powder with water before adding into the tank.
