Again, pay attention to his location.

Australia doesn't have a wal-mart but they do have k-mart which over there is exactly like our wal-marts. They have target and many other department store which may sell aquariums. The exchange rate for us/Australian is almost equal at .9960. glass isn't anymore expensive in Australia either. sand is abundant. I was just saying I think he could find a better deal. that's was just my opinion.

I thank you for your opionion, umm but I actually did like 1 and half months of research.. and yes i went to k-mart, target, name it ive been there...

Some points you might consider:

K-mart and target will NEVER NEVER stock a fish tank thats 4ft, the ones they have is 1.5ft lol... and 1ft's..basic goldfish tank.

Now the pet shops all sell branded stuff like Aqua one... Aqua One NEARLY 3ft (not fully) cost $320 AUD (JUST TANK).

All aquarium sellers on ebay.com.au have 4ft aquariums with full setup want like $250+ (But LOCAL PICK UP ONLY) -I do not have a car, and the locations of 98% of them I like are very very far or other states.

So a 4ft tank... with stand, and basic equipment for $280 WITH delivery should be ok mate?

My wants:

- I will be keeping 1 of each. FH, GT, Oscar and JD.
- 2000 Litre p/hour water pump
-2 filters
-2-3 feedings per day when older (pellets, shrip, kril etc)

^^ Thanks guys i really needed this, I am going to keep 4 types of fish in that... an oscar, flowerhorn, jack dempsey and green terror.. all young.... but since these fish need alot of water circulating

I wanna keep my fish in very good water condition.

55 gallon is too small for an oscar OR flowerhorn let alone both, and it's also gonna be a big stretch having a JD and GT together in that small of a footprint. Try considering EITHER the JD or GT as your main fish with some dithers, cuz those guys aren't gonna get together let alone their size and waste production is immense

You can't even begin to compare CA aquarium prices to that of Australia! And if it's going in a living room, not everybody wants a repulsive looking tank sitting on bricks with a shop light ;)

x2

I just saw the tank and im 100% sure its more that 55 gallons... a bit over 4ft in legnth (125 cm) and 1.5 ft in height...

And i think a FH, Oscar, GT and JD will be fine, none of them are big im getting them VERY small (2 inches or so).... and the tank is pretty big man?

However i might just get a FH GT and an Oscar

I paid 175$ for my 75 with stand filters and heaters. Offer him 150$

Iowa =/= Australia. From what I have seen on here, AUS prices for anything fish related are a serious hike in price from even the most expensive regions of the USA. I think you should get the tank but seriously rething your stocking.

If this tank is a long term plan for your oscar or flowerhorn you should get rid of them now while they are small. Personally I think a male GT is too much for a 55, which it looks like this tank is. If you want to keep all the fish you mentioned, look for a 6 foot tank and keep your fingers crossed they get along.

A single oscar will be fine in a 55, oscars do not get 4' long. That's one problem, people think that because a fish can reach 12-13" that they need huge tanks, 55 is minimum for one larger predatory sa/ca

A healthy oscar should get to 14"+. Not to mention how much waste they produce. I disagree with anyone keeping fish that are longer than the tank is wide.

And I dont think a male GT should be in a 55 because they are generally glass bangers and if you have ever seen one flip out you know how fast and eradicately they will be when banging the glass. I felt really bad for mine in a 72. Same thing can be said with most flowerhorns.

What about if i keep a Flower Horn .... and GT and other not so DEMANDING fish? or FH or JD? which combination is better?

and honestly with two filters, 2k ltire per hour pump... i think two main fish wont be bad...

Cause honestly, if you need to follow perfect rules for every fish, 80% fish keepers cant keep the fish they want due to tank and home size.
