I think alligator should be much darker in color am I right?

100% it's a gar and to me it looks like a Gator.

Colors can vary, lighting and such play a role.

I'd say it's just a gator, doesn't look like any trops that I've ever seen.

Defiantly a gator gar. No way in the world its pike.

Need a pic looking down on its head to confirm if it's a gator gar. And try waiting until it settles and not stuff it with feeders before taking pics. It's pattern doesn't run ventrally enough like gator gars should. But, it may be washed out from stress.

I would say aliigator gar to. The snout is very short and broad which would rule out most gars. It does not look like my short nose gar but it could be (different colors from different regions). I would say either alligator gar or maybe a snort nose gar. If it is an alligator gar it will be a monster sized fish. 7ft fish anyone?
