do not believe that most people on welfare sit around and do drugs. most people on wlefare actually do need it. I agree that some do abuse the system, but i think we have to be careful to not think in stereotypical ways.

well of course they all "need it"; theyre not working! but some use it with no intention of ever finding a job or getting back on their feet. that is where i have a problem.

I'm an college-educated, productive individual who can't imagine being jealous or envious of some unfortunate welfare recipient not paying taxes or not having to take drug tests for employment. Even if I knew that some guy on welafare sat at home and smoked weed all day long, I would not be concerned about him. His life is not one to envy. I'm more concerned about my own self improvement and success.

I hear ya.. I only know of a few people i know personally that have been on it and found jobs and got off the system.. Most have stayed on it..

You should have a problem with it considering you are paying for it. If you don't see it that way your turning your head away .

It's OK. I'm not hurt or offended. I just don't see the benefits of REHASHING political debate on this forum because I really doubt that the solutions to such issues can be found or resolved on this site. MFK is a great site but it's not that good (Smile).
