looks the same to me :grinno:

but to tell the truth i can take up to a week before you see any improvment

Whew..... after reading all the 6pages i was really delighted.....

sorry for reviving old threads.... was just reading infos about UV filters....

Hehehehe UV for pond or tank? hehehe honestly they are the same.... UVC is the type of UV bulb used for clearing algae or for killing bacteria...

For me its ok to turn the UV for 24/7 for the initial use.... then once it clears up the mess in your tank you can just set it on a timer.... say 6-14hrs depends on your taste.....

besides for the 1st week i guess it already cleared up most of the algae or bacteria on your tank... so just supplementing the tank with UV radiation from time to time will still do its job...

also when you say clarifier, for me its main purpose or target is for cleaning/clearing your pond/tank off of algae thus running it to with a pump to its required GPH.

when you say sterilizer, you are running it with a pump much lower to its required GPH... so its just exposing the water much longer... so what ever UV you have may it be 9W or 20W it will all depend on the flow rate.....
