Turbo twist are supposed to give better results due to having more contact time with the UV light as opposed to not having a twist. So that might be why it is rated for a 125.

Gotcha. Thanks for the info.

What price range do the 9v or other voltages run? Is turbo twist widely accepted as the best brand?

I run canister filters with built in UV. The UV bulb runs full time. I buy replacement bulbs of e-bay and replace them every six months. I believe the turbo twist is probably superior however my setup works very well. And less cords to plug in.

Yep in the main tank. Mines not much bigger then a power head

mustang do you keep yours on all the time...not sure if i need to keep it running or just fire it up periodically?
The bulbs last longer if you run them 24/7
Replace them annually.

got one for my 55 planted and it has worked magic. I bought it not cause of an algae problem but because i got an out break of ick after ordering some plants off of aquabid. Lost 200+ dollars of fish. that's what i get for not qt'n the plants.

I could never bing myself to spend the money on one but now i wish i had done it years ago :)
it is supposed to eliminate green water. slow and prevent algae and also pretty much irradicate the spread of diseases from fish to fish. AWESOME. great investment

really, so this could kill, any bacterial, internal and external parasites that happen to pass through it?

I have one in all of my tanks. Not only does it make the tank crystal clear, but it does take care of most parasites. I think it is one of the MOST beneficial pieces of equipment any fishkeeper could have. My parameters have been perfect in all tanks and I think it has alot to do with the UV Ster...
