I’ve ordered all my stuff. FOR NOW im going to run a 12x with a 290gph pump. This will kill Anything including parasites. I’m going to add a spray bar to spread the water. I’m eventually going to get another to turn the tank over more but for now this is very effective. I got the UV for 160 on Amazon and the pump for 25. Will turn the tank over around 25-30 times a day. Maybe more.

What size tank is this on?

I personally run a 12x 36 watt on my fx4 for turn over. I have it on a 210 gallon tank. Originally had fluval 404 powering it but there wasn't enough tank turn over.

I have 25 and 57W Aqua Ultraviolets. I ran the 25W on my 75 gal and 57W on a 125 gal. Emperor Aquatics is another quality brand but they were purchased recently. Aqua Ultraviolet has good customer service but their 57W ballasts kept overheating due to being potted. Prices have doubled since I bought mine so I'm kind of stuck. There is a different type of ballast that's placed inside a watertight metal box rather than in a plastic housing and potted.

If I were buy now I'd look at the TMC Vecton which maybe the best price/quality product.

I’ve heard good things about aquas. What hpoeens when they overheat/is it dangerous for the fish?

I don’t care about the price. Just want something that has 0% chance of hurting the fish

I'm running it on a 180. Most likely buying another in a month or so.

AquaUltraviolet have been around a long time. The 25W is the work horse of the company. All the bugs have been worked out and improvements made over the years. When you step up to a high output unit like the 57W you will run into heat issues as I mentioned in my previous post. High output are designed to run hot.
Stick with the thicker UV resistant chambers. Cheap plastic units will degrade with time.
Both Emperor and Aqua are good professional grade units used by many big displays. Very easy to service.
