Let me tell you there is nothing worse then bringing home some food items with mites on them. Recently I went through the largest infestation I have ever had to deal with. About a half hour of being in my animal room I discovered the mites on my breeder trio of RTBs, then checked the rack containing my other snakes. They had them as well, meanwhile I discovered them all over my ankles and legs. Not the most pleasent experience in the world but i controlled the infestation and eventually triumphed over the pesky creeps with no loss or illness what so ever. Logically PK/frozen food items are the safest route. at least in my book..nomadofthehills said:the freezing process kills any parasites the rats may have, making them safer for your snake.
