]V[ONSTER INSECTS!!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
If you'd like to get into the whole "bug" world, although not even like beatles many species of tarantulas, mainly the females live quite long lives.

H. lividums (spelling?) also known as a colbat blue is quite beautiful, but burrows to much to be seen, green bottle blues are nice as well, many species of roaches are also available that breed easily, and are like beatles?

I don't know of anyway that you can get around the other problem, of their life span though man.

thanks for the heads up man. i've thought about tarantulas for a while...but those fangs!!!

ugh, I just read that they live as maggots for up to 5 years, and then only a few months as adults :(

We had some large Hurculese beetles at my clubs last get together. They live as maggots for 1-5 years depending on species. This particular one lives 6-8months as a beetle.

Here is a picture of one of the members holding one, he stuck his tongue out for the pic, hehe.

6-8 months, that's shorter than I thought!

6-8 months, that's longer than I though! LOL

I thought it was 2-4

I have seen some adult for sale, they can get quite expensive (few hundred dollars) and you have to feed them special food (jelly like cricket water but full of nutrients)

Its a bottomless pit, your better off with a salt water tank :D
