Stingrayguy is right for the most part. And I'm going to say that everything gets inherintly more expensive when you decide to mod something as it turns into a downward spiral of upgrades usually. Dropping a 350 in a fwd caddy won't be simple and probably not worth it since you could build a better project car for that kind of cash that would be rwd and still keep the caddy stock for it's reliablity/driveablility.

I would just do simple mods. Air filter, exhaust, etc.

you are probaly right.

I was just saying for some real power out of the car put the 350 small block in it with new engine mounts on each frame rail. The 350 is a chevy motor but way back when the used to use 454 cid chevy motors in the old caddi's. I also know it is a front wheel drive car but you will still have to beef everything up because the torque will just chew up the gears and drive shaft. You can get 350 small blocks dirt cheap. Heck you can just pull one out of a 1990 camero as it has the same wiring but not same engine mounts, that can be easily modified though. You can just go for a bore kit or new internals for the engine. this is cheap and if you get all new stuff it will probably be around a grand or so.
