mods don't read?

lol, I kid

there has been some great suggestions already itt
Oh, ho, ho, your so lucky you don't venture into my section, I'd be checking every post since the beginning of time right now. :D lol

There have been some great suggestions but being a noob I have no idea what drip systems are, rebuilding my own coils what a complete systemof any of these are and how do I know which is drip and which isn't when buying. For the most part all I saw where some suggestions for great devices but even then it looks like one requires more to be purchased after the fact. Shoot I barely know that e-cigs exist never mind comprehending the vaping talk being shot back and forth here. Honestly I'm a little lost.

which one's your section? I'll remember to either go troll it, or never go there at all

I don't know much myself. I've been vaping for about 2 and a half years. I haven't learned or looked too deep into all the technology since i was always a light smoker so I don't need much to find my fix. a pack would last me about 3 days. but what I would suggest for a true noob is to try out a starter kit from a website. a starter kit will have everything you need. the battery, tube, cartimizer, charger and liquid. or google to see if you have a vape shop near you, read the customer reviews and stuff. just go in and talk to them, tell them you're a noob. i'm sure they'll be happy to help you out.

come back here to ask for advise once you scoped out a local shop about what they have and what not. this is a good thread to lurk because everyone's a customer. the advise on here likely doesn't have a purpose of trying to get you to buy their product

from there on, you will likely experiment with different flavors and equipment and find out what you like.

again I don't know much unlike most on here but that's what i'd tell a noob. i'm sure later on the experts will chime in

Lol

Your advice is spot on. I think it'd be a lot better seeing the options in person and easier to understand then asking people here to explain it without making it difficult for them. I'll definitely see if there's a vape shop available locally, so I can get a grasp of it better. From my limited understanding from the thread though and since I'm a heavy smoker it looks like I should be asking a lot of questions about drips systems and rebuildable drip atomizers. Thanks man.

no problema, i'm here to help when i'm not trollin

good luck. I was enlightened when I first started. the fact that you can vape in the house, at work at your desk, in the car, on the john and not worry about having to step outside, the odor on your breath, your hands, your clothes.....

almost no one in my family knows I vape. whenever i'm visiting anyone, when I get the urge I just go into their bathroom and puff. the convenience is awesome. i'll be back into a gathering or party with nic flowing thru my veins, just chillin like a villain

I definitely like the benefits vaping would have. But if I tried runnin' to the bathroom when ever the urge hit while I was visiting someone to vape on the low, I'm sure they'd think I've got some serious duecing issues or that some form of intervention might be necessary.

For a heavy smoker it's not about the big clouds you get from an RDA to replace the smoking for most, not for the purpose of quitting anyway. It is about the mg of nicotine that is in the juice you select. You will want to start off with a high mg of nicotine like 24mg and a simple, less efficient device that has a tank, is convenient and reliable like cigs were.

If you were to drip 24mg juice on an atomizer it would make you sick instantly. I would not suggest you drip anything over 6mg. This is why I suggest a tank so you can just focus on not smoking.

Here is what I did if it helps (pack and a half a day for me as well)

Level 1: Starter kit (ego batteries) and 24mg juice (close to tobacco flavor) and a tank. Put down the cigs.
Level 2: Upgraded to an iTaste MVP device (more efficient, longer battery) and upgraded to new tank. Dropped to 18mg and a sweet flavor since I could taste again.
Level 3: Upgraded to a mechanical mod with a drip atomizer and dropped down to 6mg.

Next step is 0mg nicotine. You don't want to have to have the headache of running around town and topping off a dripper all of the time/batteries dying. You will still use the tanks you have bought for cruizing around town/convenience. I keep my tanks a step up from the nicotine I am at now so if I have a bad want to smoke day I can hit that real quit and not take a step back. The nice setup can be at home waiting for you and something to look forward to. A goal to not smoke if you will.

Complete noob when it comes to vaping, anyone have any suggestions on a place to start for me? I smoke a pack and a half a day of Menthol Cigarettes/Cigars and really need to quit by the 18th of this month.

Justin explained it pretty well and I would follow that model. Being that you smoke 1.5 packs per day, like Justin and I both did - I'd recommend an eGo pen style battery with an Aspire ETS Bottom Dual Coil Tank. I'd recommend the eGo to have at least 1100mAh to help replicate the throat hit. Go to a local vape shop (they are popping up everywhere) and tell them your goal. They should be glad to help.

If you don't have a vape shop close to you and relegated to online purchase, PM me and I can send you some links.

+1 i would just start off with the itaste mvp as a beginners kit. beginner pens are no fun imo

^ agreed. That would save some money too and with as cheap as you can find them on ebay (less than $50) it makes no sense to spend any extra on a pen style unless you want really small and lightweight.

I agree, skip the ego. I personally skipped straight to a cheap mech mod and an rda. I tryed a few tanks but they did nothing for me.
