so now i have a confirmed female midevil and a pair of blood parrots that im trying to decide which one is the female? which ones head tends to protrude outward more is it the male or female?Yeah I'd agree, looks like a male GT and a female midevil.
Males tend to be the ones that get a nuchal hump on their head. With females it's rare to have a decent nob on its head but it is possible. I currently have a female FH with a big one atleast lol pretty sure she got it from her father's Gene's. Personally I would use the midevil if your looking for kok growth, GT and parrots never really grow much of a kok if at all. Midas on the otherhand do tend to get a decent kok once they mature but again this is usually with the males not the females.so now i have a confirmed female midevil and a pair of blood parrots that im trying to decide which one is the female? which ones head tends to protrude outward more is it the male or female?
this male gt absolutely loves this red monkey female i have but she hates him lol wont work i guess.shes solid red bummer.should i just use the female midevil? still hacking away at this red texas project.which one in the photo looks male so i can pull him.gonna put the midevil in there n just let him chooseMales tend to be the ones that get a nuchal hump on their head. Yeah I'd probably use the female midevil. Atleast with her you know she's a female. With the parrots I would have no clue on how to tell the genders apart other then venting them. If I had to guess I would assume that the larger one of the 2 is most likely male but I could easily be wrong still. You could always give the original pair a lil time apart and then reintroduce them together to see if anything has changed. Another idea ya could do, it's risky, but ya could try adding some dither fish to the tank and see if the female switches her aggression towards the dithers instead of the GT.this male gt absolutely loves this red monkey female i have but she hates him lol wont work i guess.shes solid red bummer.should i just use the female midevil? still hacking away at this red texas project.which one in the photo looks male so i can pull him.gonna put the midevil in there n just let him choose

only planned on pairing the gt with midevil if they will get to it and stop being picky.i had another midevil that he really liked but shes paired with a large male rd she was a little bigger than this one is now.prolly why he doesnt show any interest..same for female gt i had in there with him,,he didnt like her even tho she was always following him around she to was also small.seems like he likes a fish thats around his sizeBtw from what I've heard on parrots is that about 80% of the time the male is infertile. So if you plan on breading the midevil I would choose something else besides a parrot.
i dont know what the trick is to get them to actually be interested in a fish that isnt their own kind..i have yet to have any of my fish try and cross.so even if i do get a female blood parrot i doubt he'd want anything to do with itBtw from what I've heard on parrots is that about 80% of the time the male is infertile. Yeah not entirely sure on how others do it either. Other then just putting 2 fish of opposite genders together and crossing your fingers. Lol I'd like to get into hybridizing too it's just last thing I want is to get stuck with a fish that refuses to breed with anything I got.i dont know what the trick is to get them to actually be interested in a fish that isnt their own kind..i have yet to have any of my fish try and cross.so even if i do get a female blood parrot i doubt he'd want anything to do with it
