VERY interesting... am I almost snail free?

I had a similar experience once with eastern mud minnows. Put them into a heavily planted tank, by themselves, and I started noticing empty snail shells. Soon, lots of empty's, no fulls (or am I thinking of new years?) LOL! Seriously though, they cleaned out a 20 full of snails in a week. Only 3 of them.

Interesting. I have had sticklebacks pop very small snails while they move but never seen a muddy do it, cool.

huh.. so i had white suckers mud minnows and sticklebacks here at home but i ended up buying a 40 dollar clown loach im gona get 10 bucks for when i bring it back.. son of a B*&%$#&!! i asked sooo many people what to do and they all said loaches until after i bought it ! then al these other options came up! ok sorry i blew up.. im better now. i just hate wasting money like that..

Keep the loach! Or if you want to make a road trip for some pasties i'll trade.

thats a long haul! i have no interest in the loach and id have to set up another tank for it.. ill sell it for 20 bucks if somebody wants to come get it. (plus you can stop at the Mall of America 10 min from my house.. I think it sucks but whatever ) Good news is I have not seen a snail in 4 days now! I think im ready to start puting the tank back together. although im still not sure why my plants wont grow...

Bluegill will make short work of snails.

after almost 2 weeks of no sightings i have crushed 3 snails now... i see a pattern here, my walleye has decided to eat the 4-5 inch suckers i had and now that i have 1 sucker out of 6 the snails come back.. there like mold once there in there they can come back any time!!

They hide in the substrate or in filters. As long as they don't take over...
