Yeah - I'm very sad for loss. That's a pretty tough break.
While a few species of sharks or ray -might be able to tolerate salinity shifts of that kind of level. Most of your aquarium friendly sharks or rays can't.
Lessons learned:
*Just because you own a fish store, doesn't take you off the Dumb***** list. *Make all future water changes yourself
*Screw me once, shame on you, screw me twice shame on me....and add me to the Dumb***** list.
Ok but seriously, sorry about your loss. Yea it's cool he is going to replace them for you, but that's sorta a double edged sword because that just means more pulled from the wild, or more viable casings that are not placed into the wild. Sad story, and such a careless oversight.
because i called him and asked. he said that one of his guys at the store filled them and he didnt check the salinity. tank was .118 before and around .132 after
Wow, there are very very few organisms that can tolerate such a dramatic quick salinity change like that. Thats why you should always do everything yourself if you want it done right. I learned that a few days ago when I had someone take care of my tank and massively overfed it.
Sorry bout your lost, Shame on him but everyone makes mistakes its a way of life I'm shure he will never let it happen again and he apologized and is going to replace everything. You guys act like you've never lost a fish in your whole life. S
