How big is your clown.. did you give him some driftwood.. did he actually eat it.. i will try hard to get a good pic of him tonight..glad yours was okay:D

It's about 2.5-3 inches maybe a little more. I've had it since Dec. 26 2006. All my plecos get driftwood and yes the clown was pretty much always chilling on the wood, I found him under a rock yesterday though :grinno:

probably under a rock. Put some zucchini in there and just stick around after the lights go out, I'm sure he'll show up ;)

He seemed to like the carrot..with out the carrot i may have not seen him at all

What... how... why not me lol? You lucky duck!
Looks like it could well be Panaque maccus, but there are lots and lots of similar looking small Panaques and Peckoltia also, and with the pics I wouldn't be 100% sure. Either way a great score... and as the chances of it being Panaque are so high... yes wood would be a great idea. Either way, this pleco is going to get somewhere between 3-4"

It is quite a common colour/pattern combo in the pleco world... take a look at these links http://www.planetcatfish.com/catelog/genus.php?genus_id=27
http://www.planetcatfish.com/catelog/genus.php?genus_id=18#75

It is a combo that obviously serves them well in the wild. The green phantoms however... well when they were given a scientific description, it was in the paper "Baryancistrus demantoides and Hemiancistrus subviridis, two new uniquely colored species of catfishes from Venezuela ". Both however, are very attractive in my eyes.
