VERY URGENT BIRD HELP NEEDED

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
i miss my tiel... he lived to 22 years old... so the baby did not make it???

yeh real bummer I debated not putting the dad in the cage with the mom and the egg and the hatched baby. I watched the 2 of them take turns with the eggs but when I went to put them in a cage early this morning it was like the dad could care less. This morning my wife found the baby had his head pecked almost clean off.

My mission this week is to get a breeding box set up going in my aviary so that should they lay fertile eggs again there will be no way that the baby can work its way out of the box.

Such a bummer, my kids were so excited about the sound of a new born peep.

well here is the one picture I took of the baby

I will be buying a kit to make sure if this ever happens I have on hand everything that is needed to make sure that this does not happen again. As well as doing the needed rebuild of the bird room to make it more suitable to birds being able to have a private breeding space if they so see fit CALL ME THE BIRD PIMP lol.

Just kidding, actually if we were blessed enough to have baby birds I can think of nothing better than to be able to give another person a hand tamed bird as a gift. I know of many people who would love to care for a bird and can easily afford the food etc. but the pet store price tag on some birds keeps them at bay.

time to revive this thread :)

my pair this time chose a different spot to lay some eggs and I blocked off the exits with towels so there is no way that the baby can roll out of the nesting spot. Low and behold there are now 2 3 week old hatchlings, at this time I really don't want to disturb them but will post pics in the days to come.

lots of luck this time around

dont worry mine always breeed and as long as they have their nest box theyll do fine.. dont worry if both parents are in there male cockatiels are real sweet hearts when taking care of their babies.. i also breed parakeets
