Veyron price

I've had the misfortune of inspecting one of these involved in an accident along with several hundred Ferrari's, Lambo's, and Bentley's.
I understand the mystique and desire for such a limited built vehicle with such raw power and sex appeal, but if you guys would really see how they are built, you'd think twice.
Think......... DIY to the max. crappy welding (a monkey could do a better job), mis-matched panels, noisy as you wouldn't believe (not the good noisy either). Don't get me wrong; I'll gladly take one, but I just can't believe what an ironic vehicle this is.

Meh, they're an ugly penis-extention for people with too much money, for those that like to brag about the top speed or hp of their car, instead of letting their driving at the track do the talking.
I can think of plenty of other cars I would rather have for half that much money.

Umm...they DO the talking at the track. These cars are simply amazing. With the extent of luxury they have, they still blow any production car out of the water. The only cars on the face of the planet are full out race cars, which by the way, generally cost more. ;) You're paying for the all out. You're getting a car with 3 keys for 3 power maps. A car that automatically lowers it's own suspension and raises it's wing to the most correct levels at high speeds. 4 turbos, w-16, all-wheel drive, luxury. Don't get me wrong, it's a ***** ton of money, but the only thing comparing to it any time soon is the Koenigsegg CCX-R. It's not out yet, but it will be priced at like 2.5 mil. I've never seen these (Veyron) up close, so I can't say much about the quality (as said). But I wouldn't be surprised, it's German-based (VW/Audi).

You two are coming from two different perspectives/views/pleasures. One is happy with bare bones race car go fast that needs manually setup(me too), and one wants the car with leather/cd player/everything else automatic adjusted for them. One is for the guy who likes to go fast and one is probably with a few exceptions for the guy who could go/wants to look like he's going fast. Nothing wrong with either. Different strokes for different folks but I'll give my opinion on the car.

I've been a car guy for a long time. That said I wouldn't waste my money on that thing. Not knocking anyone who has one or likes it but I throw more respect to the guy with the 1000-1400hp supra, or extreme hot rod he built in his garage with imagination/inginuity.

IMO it's a car for people where money is infinite, imagination/tuning is short, and just want the bragging rights. There are a few collectors who know cars, i.e. Jay Leno who would/could purchase one but there is a majority who have the money who probably couldn't tell you the first thing how it works, will never take it over 80mph, couldn't handle the car with the go pedal mashed, and will only drive it on special occasions worried more about investment than enjoyment.

With a $3000 down payment, the monthly payment would only be $64,500.00. lol

Who ever has the winning bid on that car needs to enter it into the Gumball 3000!

I looked into that and did not realize how much it cost to be involved.

Realistically, if you could afford $3.4 million, you'd probably think otherwise. Once people get into this class, it's not about the money or necessarily the car for that matter. On this level, it's about the investment. 5 years of ownership may net you double profit.
I know a couple of guys in my industry who buy these kinds of cars and put maybe 25 miles on them over a 5 year period. The cars spend more time in shipping containers, on cargo transports, or in exhibit halls than they do touching pavement.
As weird as it may be, they usually aren't bought to be driven.

Im sure if we held a raffle we could post a team for the rally.

Gumball 2008 entry fee is £60.000 (90.000 euro or 120.000 dollars) per car (2 people) and of course includes everything throughout the 8 days, incl. hotels, parties, flying the cars around etc…and tickets to the Olympics.

Not a bad deal, really.

To each his own as mentioned.I would trade that car in for a Cadillac Sixteen in a second flat and pocket a bunch of money....heck for that price I should be able to get a Cadillac sixteen and a Cadillac Cien and some cash in my pocket.

PS:isn't whoever is selling this like almost doubling their money?Wow great investment if you got the money.
