injinji makes sock for them but they feel wierd. you dont really need socks unless its cold or somethin. they make a cold weather version with neoprene tops also.

I don't know if there are any in your areas but we have a sporting goods chain store here called Modells and they carry a version of the shoe that is made by Fila.

I started the previous thread on them. I love mine.

They sell for $80-$100 US and can be purchased at REI.

you think this will work well for people with flat feet (me)?

there is something on the FAQ about it, i forget tho.
the shoes here provide no support they are simply like walking with rubber wrapped around your foot. If it hurts to walk bare foot on your floor, etc, then id assume it would hurt to use the 5 finger thing

NO, i don't have any foot fungus or athletes foot. I got annoyed of having to wash my feet every time I use this shoe, so stopped using it for now.

there is actually fungus that inhabit your skin on your feet all the time, it's when your feet go unclean and moist that can cause an infection

just saying,.........

anyways, about the shoe, i'd imagine you have to wear toe socks or are these shoes made so that you don't wear socks at all? either way, i hate toes socks, i hate the feel of fabric between my toes. it makes me feel like my toes are numb. i probably won't ever buy these shoes. i am fine with standard shoes.

and why are they called 5 finger shoes? i'd try them if i got a 5 finger discount, lol

Just the way these shoes look, freak me out!! I love being shoeless, I literally have worn chanclas (sandles) pretty much my whole life.. so I can't imagine being comfortable with a shoe that is so wrapped around my foot... and I have sweaty feet:irked:.. so that wouldn't work...:D

I have a pair and have worn them practically everywhere. I don;t really like jogging in them because I like the support but I wore them hiking smith rock near my house and wore them caving and also in the woods. The best though was wearing them in the sumatran Jungle where orangutans live. You can see the terrain and the Vibrams in action in this video I made of that trip. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DyR_TfdxKnA

I have thought about getting a pair, personally I run much better barefoot than I do wearing sneakers. They do look pretty goofy though.
