IDK here is the video of the only black that I've seen with DE. There are members here that have posted the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago has a large black with DE also.

it seams to suport the trama theroy and yet it leaves it open on the other ideas. he seams to in away dismiss the inbreeding idea but still states it as a possibility. i think that trama is a huge factor like i said before, but there may be some link to the inbreeding and trama. if a fish is inbread it might be more suseptible. this thought doesn't state that wc wont get it do to injury aswell. the clear sides to a tank i don't agree with. because if this were the case there would be more aros of all types with de. the pond thought could help prevent injurys do to to change in structure at the sides (shallowing). although in tanks/ponds with right angle walls they still crash ex. the arapima with trama related de. desent blog about it though, thats a part of the research and developement on the true cause of de. on the vid of the black it has no barbs it very well could have crashed at some point. there is a chance that it just rubbed them off on the tank though.
