Thanks everyone, really narrowing it down now :)

Which one of these?

Bifasciatus uncommon
Synspilum most common
Fenestratus most rare
Maculicauda fairly common
Heterospilus fairly rare

Rarity is also highly appealing to me, so this should be factored in...
Cast your votes. :)

Going off the colors you want fenestratus is the fish for you.

My Fav is These :)

Fene
Zonata

And I am looking for the th real Gutt;)

I have syns... I like the color changes DRASTIC when I go from ones type of food to the other...

NLS

then
SPirulina..

WIth spirulina they surpass red and shoot to a PURPLE and darker intense body colors.

I don't know about a rear vieja w/ all of the following colors but argentea has that mother-of-pearl color with greens, pinks, and purples depending on how the light reflects on the fish, males get up to over 14 inches with long flowing fins, basically a show piece with fins.

:iagree: Don't forget about Argentea!

Not the most colorful of the Viejas, but, as mentioned, a healthy specimen will have lavender hues that you can see more at certain angles. And, as mentioned, great finnage. A full-grown male is a beast with a nice hump!

Here's my synspilum at about 3.5-4". If it helps at all.

No the best Veija is Zonatum no question about it. Look at Mojo's Zonatus and you'll see what I mean.

wow. Looking at those pictures makes me want one!

btw, it looks like the fenestratus is in Paratheraps now. Taxonomy is confusing.
