Have you grown anything there before or tossed seeds around? Looks a little like my eggplant.
 
Yuccas are cool. Used to have a 5' one before I moved to a climate where winter will freeze your toes off!
 
I have a few different types around the grounds.I favor the tall growing,treelike types over the low bushy ones.I do have a near four footer that I have had for quite a few years.They withstand our east coast winters but grow very slowly probably as a result.

Yeah krich, the one I had was one of those with the long stems.
I want another but I bet they won't withstand winters in southern Germany.

i have some .. that i would like to move because they got so big.. there is no moving a yucca.. unless you have a back hoe..........lol.........i love their flowers even if short lived..gorgeous..your hostas are coming up already?? you must be warmer there then i am.
