You may have newer low flow faucets installed.
Look at the adapter that came with the Python. 20210311_160321.jpg
Normally there is another white o-ring in the center hiding the inside threads. This set of threads are for new low flow faucets. The outside set of threads are for the older standard flow faucets.

J Jim bean 20055 , is the outside faucet cold water only?

I don't think it's been mentioned here but you want to match your new water added to the aquarium with the same temperature or just slightly cooler water. Cold water only will be an issue.

I use cold water but I never do more than 50% and if the water is really cold, I add 1 bucket of very hot water at the end and this has worked well for me. Just poor the hot water in slowly so you don’t cook anyone

Tomorrow is water change day for me, and I was just wondering about buying a python water changer, so I can get rid of all my buckets. Do you guys recommend this since it would be straight from the tap, or should i just continue doing bucket by bucket. If i did buy a python I would of course add dechlorninator after I fill the tank back up.

For my twin 75gal stand, this is how I do it. Gravel vac into the storage tote, then in the storage tote is my Harbor Freight Tools submersible utility pump that I thread a garden hose onto and run the hose out the door and onto my lawn. I refill the tanks by another hose I thread onto the faucet of a nearby utility sink. I bought an adapter for that faucet that allows you to thread a standard garden hose fitting onto.

For the people with the faucets that don’t hook up to python adaptors, this is a good solution. You just gotta create the syphon with gravity or your mouth if you want a few parasites ? I toss the other end right out the window and it’s pretty powerful!
