I saw a few Oscars in a drainage ditch behind a Church in Punta Gorda. (I think...some large Cichlid with red on em and a dark body)

In Florida I've seen plenty of Gars, Killie Fish, Mosquito Fish, Large Cichlids, and my favorite was once I saw a school of Neon Tetras swim by.
Me to have seen Oscars but never caught any. One canal seemed to have a community of them. They seemed smart would go near the hook baited with worm but didnt bite.
They arent found in most canals like Mayans or peacock bass are .
Day I catch one pic will be posted lol.
I have also seen an albino big oscar ofcourse released pet in man made lake .
My neatest catch here has been a big Jaguar which was my first pic posted here though have caught a few .
Have seen lots exotics and the tiny cichlids like red jewel cichlids and convicts are my favorites .

Oh how nice I have seen school of tiger barbs and zebra danios but never neons.
I would think Neons would do the best as far as surviving goes as they move fast are tiny and dark water canals would be paradise for them. would love to see them.
Did you see them in canal or lake?
Saw a small common pleco in Minnesotan small lake and I once find a dead 10inch long piranha washed up on the shore on my home lake but dont know if its piranha because it was decaying.
It was long time ago probably when i was around 9 or 10 years old...but it is possible its probably a pacu.
