Wow, I had no idea that Australia was so restrictive with the species they allow there. With Asian aros, I can understand bc they're illegal here in america too, but dats and pbass are illegal there too? Dang, that's messed up.

But that flowerhorn isn't a Ferrari. It's more like an over-priced Camaro. And a big NTT would be like a nice import racer like an NSX or RX8, not a Yugo. Everyone's got their own taste and the OP is gonna buy whatever he wants, but 1 flowerhorn that to me doesn't look so impressive isn't worth that price.
To him, it is a Ferrari.

Australia has the perfect environment for a lot of animals to thrive... Not to mention they are known to be very strict with anything imported to the country that can harm local crops or bring in new diseases or become an invasive species...

Even clown knife is illegal..all bass is illiegal...bichirs...sting rays...all...fish that grow bigger than natives are banned.

And a camaro to you in usa is not the same value car once it is in e.g. A country in asia.

What did they say if you don't mind sharing?

Bring Australian,I briefly looking into the import rules for tropical fish and even spoke to a representative of he department of conservation. There is a gray list and a black list only for importing fish. The gray list has all the species that are yet to be cleared and the black list is illegal fish. There is a rating system on what needs to be checked for a fish to be allowed for import. The conservation rep told me that this is near impossible to do and the grey list will eventually be phased out and we will only have a black list. I argued that species found on the black list are either in the country or a similar family member exists and she told me that most likely they were here before the regulations were in place. I am a Geo lover an really wanted to import daemon and others but this is impossible here. I do envy you Americans because of the amazing fish you have at hand :(

^ Time to move to Hong Kong... closer than the US, and you can pretty much keep any fish you want... all you have to do is be able to import it or buy it locally...
