Wal-Mart How To Stop It Before It Stops Us

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
wm should and will be able to sell whatever they want! would you buy a car without checking it out first? and whats with toy's r us selling guns? thats not a good example! if wm sold more fish then they would'nt have to lay off so m any employees! you should get a job there in the fish dept. sounds like that would solve all our problems and put and end to this thread!

USA Side Note,,, OFF TOPIC TOTALLY
OK... All that back WAL-Mart and even work for it or are close with someone that is. (I worked there, my wife, several friends and church members)
This is for you and I know there are a lot of you out there.
When Sam Walton had the co. He had a slogan or two that was like this, We are going to keep America working buy buying America and selling cheaper. You can't find anything in the store that isn't made in China now after Sam died. SUCKS! We could made everything that Wal-mart sells, but a lot better and then China took everything that was America with a smile and their camera in every factory, store shop or whatever. Now they are the super power. Don't believe me, just look back a few months ago to who we was looking to for help when it all came crashing down. SUCKS :irked:

Its not that walmart shouldn't sell fish, the problem is they should be required to take good care of the fish and fully inform customers about them. There's probably no reasonable way that can happen, but if anyone can think of a legal construct to make that happen without endangering our hobby, then THAT is what we should be talking about.

We can't just petition the government to single out walmart and ban them from selling fish. If they ban fish from walmart, they have to ban fish from petsmart, petco, and LFSes. So a reasonable law would have to be written that somehow forces businesses to sell fish responsibly, but without hindering them too much.

just be thankful wal mart is not selling other animals the way they take care of the fishes. sort of like animal cruelty right there.

Out of all the people that are apart of MFK, there just has to be someone out there that knows how to use the law to make our hobby safer for the fish, better for the buyer and more injoyable for the first time fish owner.
What can we (I) do to make this better.:)

Good point!!!!!!!
No one would be able to stand seeing the big bucket marked for dead dogs or cats but somehow the cup that is marked for (dead fish only) on the shelf is OK!:irked:

Its going to take more then a MFK member to go up against a giant like Walmart. Everyone on this forum could boycot walmart and they wouldnt even notice in there sales.

This is somewhat true.
But it just takes one person that really knows the laws to be able to change them for the better for all.:headbang2

I don't think it's wal-mart that is the problem. I think it's the people that are buying the fish. I bought a fish from there once and if I ever was into the type of fish that I bought from there again I would buy it there again. That was 10-12 years ago when I bought it and it's still alive.
I have been to LFS's that are worse.

rediculous! its not just wm buying things from china, its everywhere, nothing is made here at a reasonal price anymore! thats why our unemployment lines are so long and taxes so high! THE LAST THING THIS COUNTRY NEEDS ARE MORE LAWS! be a reasponsible human and the world will be a better place!
