I don't think it's wal-mart that is the problem. I think it's the people that are buying the fish. I bought a fish from there once and if I ever was into the type of fish that I bought from there again I would buy it there again. That was 10-12 years ago when I bought it and it's still alive.
I have been to LFS's that are worse.

Please see the first of this tread becase I am not bashing Wal- Mart in geneeral, but the type of fish they sell to Joe Blow Fish Keeper For The First Time.:irked:

its not that im a wm supporter but c'mon, you cant expect wm to hire someone at 50k a year that is educated in fish keeping, in buisness you seem to get what you pay for. and you cant really expect that someone that makes 7 dollers an hour will care about the health of a fish or who and what their selling. they will sell whatever is in demand, strictly buisness! for the record i dont shop for fish or anything else at wm!

That's why I say it is at the discretion of the buyer.
And I am bashing wal-mart even though it don't seem that way. But the mindset of America in general is to blame. If it was different then people would be at Meijer shopping more in my case or in your case H.E.B.(not sure if their only in the Corpus area down there) more often then going to wal-mart:D.

I took a job at a Builder's Square once for 7 bucks an hour and I had classes on how to deal with the public, how to use the panel saw and to get certified to run a forklift and a lift truck. This was after I had been in construction for 20 years.
Make it a part of the job and they will learn.

builder square out of business! wal-mart thriving! GOOD POINT THOUGH just not aout education anymore its about saving $$$$$$$$ it unfortunate

USA Side Note,,, OFF TOPIC TOTALLY
OK... All that back WAL-Mart and even work for it or are close with someone that is. (I worked there, my wife, several friends and church members)
This is for you and I know there are a lot of you out there.
When Sam Walton had the co. He had a slogan or two that was like this, We are going to keep America working buy buying America and selling cheaper. You can't find anything in the store that isn't made in China now after Sam died. SUCKS! We could made everything that Wal-mart sells, but a lot better and then China took everything that was America with a smile and their camera in every factory, store shop or whatever. Now they are the super power. Don't believe me, just look back a few months ago to who we was looking to for help when it all came crashing down. SUCKS :irked:
If Sam Walton actually made that comment, it was made a long time ago. The economy has shifted in another direction. If Walton were alive today, he'd probably be selling imported items, also. Times change. We now have a GLOBAL ECONOMY.

This is a losing battle. There have been many threads about Wal-Mart. PetSmart, etc . . . It's not going to change.

I gess if Toys-R-Us Started selling guns that shot real rounds and was sold by people that did not know and people bought them for their kids, then it would be OK with you? Right!
You equate me giving my kids guns to an adult buying fish at WalMart without researching it?

Then Joe Blow should nut-up and research before buying a live animal. He can't blame WalMart for sellilng it to him when he was too ignorant to look it up 1st (or even after he got it home).
