Cant speak for the americans, but wal-mart Canada has a corporate mandate to eliminate all their live fish sales this year. All the store reno's and new super centres are going fish-less.
On a side note, people do nothing but ***** about WM importing Chinese products, but NOBODY (OK by nobody I mean guys) will willingly pay 20% more for socks or underwear to get made in usa (or better yet made in Canada) products. Anyone who says otherwise is lying.
And didnt you guys invent the concept of a little guy starting a company and making it big, gobbling up the world? Why is it that when the dream comes true everyone wants to burn t to the ground?

That is how it goes for a lot of first time fish owners.
At that time in my life I didn't know what I didn't know or how to find it if I did, Idiot I guess.
Now with thirty five years in the hobby I know that when I see a fish that interest me, to go home and learn as mush as I can before I buy it, and the Internet is a great tool for that.
But when there is still stores selling fish that are sick, with people selling them that know nothing about the fish or worse, by telling the customer the wrong info, then there will be the first time fish buyer (THE IDIOT) that will buy first, read second and have a mess on their hands that may drive them away from the hobby that could have been a life long passion.
