Great idea, i have a nice 1800 gph pump that i could use just for water changes. I am only changing 30 gallons with buckets. SucksMTWiley;4910197; said:~210 gallon setup and this is what I do.
Day before PWC
1. Fill trash can bought just for this and not used for anything else with RO DI water. (You can use tap, just make sure you treat it)
2. Put a powerhead and heater in trash can(If it's a salt setup add salt)
3. Go to bed.
Day of water change.
1. Wheel the trashcan next to my tank
2. Drain desired amount from the tank while vacuuming the gravel/sand.
3. Use a small pump to pump the water out of the trash can and into the sump(if you don't have a sump you can just pump it into the display tank)
