hey have you guys noticed that this is like the first post with the word walmart that hasnt had a crap tone of flamming. knock on wood.lol.

hahah yeah i've noticed which is a good thing :) haha and i know haha :P if i see fish like that the best thing i would be able to do is just give advice to the employee serving me lol

one last word of advice be for i leave this thred. i will be checking back though. keep your chin up.

I've heard rumors Walmart is starting to remove the fish departments, and that they are all supposed to be gone in 2011. Just a rumor I guess but I'm hopeful.

I think the best way to tackle Walmart's care methods is a well written complaint straight to corporate. Boy did my letter light a fire under my local manager's ass..guy was blabbering on my answering machine apologizing, and yes things have improved. You don't want to be offensive or anything...just the facts about what you've found a problem with. Doubt they will care about things like cycling, but pointing out the dead/diseased fish and misinformation on the cards will help.

Talk with your money as well. I can't tell you how many times I've read about people complaining about Walmart...and then they go and buy/"rescue" fish there. If you keep buying their fish, there will be another fish there to replace it in a few days...you perpetuate the cycle. If there is no market for that particular product...they will either do away with it, or figure out a way to entice people back (better care standards, etc).

Just my two cents.

Did you say college in the local area? Sounds to me like a great buisness opportunity for a LPS. On the other hand, I've thinked we've established our view on wal mart fish stock skills............

hmm I doubt you are going to make a difference because there's money behind it. luckily the walmart close to my house gave up on fish a long time ago only regret is I cant pick up fish supplies :( and it depends on how big that bowl is.....

The problem is that the manager of Walmart does not care about the fish there and your suggestions would mean little to nothing to him or her. You would need to go corporate, which would mean a whole lot of effort and probably no results to show for it.
