This photo is in reality a pre-architectural artists conception of my next tank... But instead of the whale sharks we are planning on having great white sharks.

Not even the biggest of aquariums can have white sharks, they are way to sensitive.

I think the Monterrey Bay aquarium had one for a month, but that's because it swam into their harbor and they watched over it and made sure it was healthy before it swam off :shark:

IS IT POSSIBLE FOR US TO JUST LEAVE CERTAIN ANIMALS IN THE WILD.....WHERE THEY BELONG......HUMANS ARE REALLY SELFISH...IF U WANNA SEE THEM...GO SNORKELING OR DIVING WHERE THEY ARE AT AND ENJOY THEM IN THEIR NATURAL HABITAT...IMO

this oint reminds me of the "lets kill it or hunt it or catch it or fish it out to see how old it is" type of thing. So they end up killing something that was really old to see how old they get. I dont get that one either.:irked:

Yep, that's the Georgia Aquarium in Atlanta. I was there two weeks ago. I'll go dig up the videos.

...by the way, they are transported by UPS. No joke. You would have thought Sea World would have done it for them.

Here's the link to the thread I made.

And one of the videos on that thread:

The way i see it, as long as the people who own the fish, know EXACTLY what they are doing, treat the fish properly and give it everything it needs, I'm fine with it. Aquariums and Zoos are huge conservationism centers, not only to they teach us many things, but they also captivate children who grow up to help the animals.

take Steve Erwin for example, everyone knows who he was, everyone was sad the day he died, but he did want he wanted to do, teach the world about all animals, and spread conservation, and he did a damn fine job. he owned a zoo.

And it helps aquaculture, the day i can buy a fish without having to take it out of the ecosystem is going to be a happy day. many aquariums learn how to breed species, and develop aquaculture centers for them, reducing the demand on the real world.

IMO, zoos and aquariums are good, AS LONG as they are in the right hands, and have life long, trained professionals, working with the animals.
