Check out this male I got about 3 weeks ago. He has already grown what seems like an inch and is now almost 5 inches. He is developing some blue spotting on his back the you can see in the pics. I am sure he will out grow the coloring but looks really sharp right now none the less.

Heres one of my female pups,shes two years old now and 10inches across her disc.....shes is really pale also.

Love the black specks. Mine had the blue hue too when I first got them, but it soon changed.

Shes been raised on mainly pelets,Hikari carnivore and Massivore,i feed earthworms ,cockles and mussels also but its the pellets that account for the rapid growth rate.

Looks like a hybrid to me and rate of growth also suggests this idea IMO. Here are the latest pics of my male (appx. 7-8in) and female (appx. 5-6in). The female is the light colored one:

Female: (and yes...she eats the color bits with the discus...both of them do!)

Male: (after stealing a whole fresh shrimp [legs, tentacles, and all] from the MBU...couldn't really eat it though)
