i just got my fahaka a couple months ago and let me tell you it is the most personable and interactive fish i have ever seen! he is always there to greet me when i walk into the room and then begs for food like hes never eaten a meal in his life. when i throw food into the tank he completely assasinates whatever it is. fahakas are awesome and arent any harder to care for than any other fish as long as you know what you are doing.
i also have a dovii, but he is still small and shy, but when they get large they as well are extremely interactive and agressive, more like a rabid dog.
my midas will play with the net just like a pit and a tire swing he bites the net shakes the hell out of it and you can pull him str8 up out of the water by the net he BITES DOWN AND WON'T LET GO HE JUST STARTS SHAKING IT he'll do your hand the same way if u let him lol
If you want a big, showy, interactive fish... Get a flowerhorn. They are gorgious and impressive, plus they swim right at you when you enter the room and will jump out of the tank for food! A real glass-banger!
O's are great too, I have a nice big guy, but he can be sulky, and if you really want something impressive, get a flowerhorn, midas, or,f tank space isnt a factor, get a DOVII! Only if you have a 180g for him.. but they are the coolest!
Our eegg, is just about as moody/big personality as they come, just stares you out until you give in and feed it. Then when you get to the tank it goes like 'have I asked you to come near me?' followed by 'why do insist on hand feeding me?' followed by 'oh I forgot I was hungry' Then it's like Joey and the cheese cake in friends: 'What are we having?'
go for the oscar ... i just got one (3" 1/2 tiger oscar) .. ive had him for less than a week and he is already eating from my hand..and actually bit my wifes finger when she tried it (good boy rex)..... i got one after reading how they are alot like "pittbulls in water" ... and i love the little big guy!
