want some ideas about gun control laws

so im taking a speech summer course in college and were doing speeches about gun control. what are some of you guys's proposal on new regulations/restrictions/punishment/ or laws for having an illegal gun?
or do new laws still wont help gun violence? i say we increase the price of bullets dramaticly or the guns themselves.

Increasing prices will only result in additional burglary crimes being committed so criminals can buy guns/ammo. They're already buying stolen weapons at pennies on the dollar value. So, criminals would hardly feel any price increases.

Increasing prices dosen't hurt anyone except for the people who follow the laws like myself. Most guns used in crimes are illegal. Why don't we punish people with larger fines/jail time for owning/using illegal weapons instead. I could go on and on.

My idea of gun control is using both hands.

Im with rally- People will always have guns , even if they are outlawed. I have a few guns, a couple of them arent legal either, but Im not gonna use them irresponsibly ever. I dont drive around packin heat, and my guns are all locked away at all times, save for a little .45 colt I keep stashed for home protection.
I was a victim of the assault rifle ban, the authorities said that we had to get them registered years ago before a certain date, so I showed up at my local police station to register a pair of COMPLETLEY LEGAL mail order purchased SKS rifles I owned. Long story short, they were confiscated and destroyed. People control, not gun control.

How about the DA's sticking to the MANDATORY MINIMUM for gun crimes instead of using them for plea bargaining!!!!
