yea me too. i love them tho. they are such pigs. i caught a green perch the other day that was prop over 2 lbs i have never seen one that big in my life. and it was def a green perch not a rock bass or anythin else.

I had a warmouth years ago and blue-gills in the same tank from a rescue. The warmouth was my favorite, It had red eyes and it would be the last to come to the glass when it saw me.

I love the way it moved, like it was studying me as it approached. It cruised moderately fast and it seemed like it barely moved it fins.

The blue gills would move all over the place jumping over each other. The warmouth would stay in one place at the glass.

The warmouth would strike very fast at food. I loved to see if open it's large mouth. It would take food to the back but always keep an eye on me.

Even when the warmouth was full it would still come back and interact with me.The blue gills would move back when they were full. The warmouth would always stay and look at me the entire time I was in the room.

Even though the warmouth is drab in color, hands down it was my favorite so far. I can't catch any, they are not that common in our areas. I found a guy that is selling me a few. They don't don't have the red eye and I will try them anyway.

you dont have them in brownsville ?
im in san antonio. i catch them everywhere now. ponds creeks you name it. they usually hide up in root systems but if you just throw a jig up by them and let it sit them will come eat it after a second and they will always come back even after they have been hooked. but i love there pattern under water its alot like a jag cichlid.

Sorry I got distracted by a friend who stopped by; Ive had green sunfish and they are very intelligent and lots of fun if you have a big enough tank, they outgrew my 39g in about 2 1/2 yrs......theyre disposition is about the same as a Jack Dempsey cichlid. I alway wanted a Warmouth both Zimmerman and Jonahs online offers them for sale and they have them in the wild about 150 miles from where I live... but I dont have the room for a 75g or bigger to house a couple for life.

i had a big green perch but he was always in the back corner of my corner tank and barely ate so i just took him back. he was beautiful tho. his fins looked like fire. thaey were insane bright orange with white white edges. he was amazing.

well im gettin a 120 this weekend :) so i might be goin to catch a few more
