HEY MR. WINKLE!!!! I had been thinking about you. I haven't seen you in awhile. Do you remember those Warmouth fish you directed me to on aquabid?? Well I am finally going to get them!!!! I am getting five @ 4-5 inches. Now that you have the Warmouth, Are you going to keep it?? Is there a possiblity of a Native tank? I don't think you will be disappointed. The 300 gallon still hasn't sold, the guy told me to keep in touch about it.

Yeah i am cooking up a native tank right now i want a grass pickerel that i plan to get from zimmerman at WWW.ZIMMERMANSFISH.COM and maybe some of his sunfish like Redbreast and/or Northern Longear. what do you think?

Good choice in Zimmermans the guy is a native fish lover and breeder! I would be carefull with a Pickeral with Sunnies..... I bought a Redfin Pickeral off a collector and put it in with my two Greens and they killed it that night!

Mrwinkle, not so sure about the mix. I can only think that the pickerel has to be larger. Maybe if the tank has enough depth and length and enough territories the sunfish might not be threatened. If you do try it, keep an eye on the aggression.

You will get warning signs by the charges. If the charges are battering, then you need to move the fish.

I had a problem with my dominant blue gill attacking the brown bullhead suddenly. The blue gill had a challenger that kicked it out of it's territory. So the blue gill kept attacking the tail of the catfish because they were now sharing the same space.

I decided to re-do the tank and the catfish was left alone. After the re-do, I decided to move a small piece of driftwood for the catfish to have room.

I immediately saw the change in the blue gills behavior. They started looking at each other and swimming in the same area about a inch apart. I knew this meant they were going to re-distribute territories and the dominant bluegill started looking at the catfish too hard. I put the piece of wood back.
