i wash my hands everytime and i use dawn to wash because i always figure dish soap washes off completely and wont get in the tank any soaps anyone recomends for the fish's sake to keep from getting left over soap residue in to the water?
id say the foaming types. we have anti-bacterial foaming soap at my house, always liked it cuz it washes away really easy, not sure about the residue though, just rinse thoroughly. never had a soap problem in my tank before.

Anti-bacterial/microbial soaps kill MOST microbes but not all. In a way it is like culturing the strongest bacteria which aren't killed. Why are some of the worst microbes found in hospitals?:)

still when i have it available im gonna use it.... ;)

We have a fairly extensive bio-security program down at our greenhouse/hatchery. Everyone walking in goes through a footbath first, and then an alcohol hand/arm wash (to the elbows). All nets are dipped in Virkon disinfectant before being rinsed and hung up to dry. Occasionally we will powerwash the floor with either Virkon or bleach (just because). We are lucky though, all fish on the farm are inspected and treated (if necessary) by some of the best aquatic veterinarians/staff in the South East.
